Australian Energy Council Brand Identity

With Australia’s energy industry undergoing a period of rapid, transformative change, member companies of the Energy Supply Association of Australia (esaa), Energy Networks Australia (ENA) and the Energy Retailers Association of Australia (ERAA) decided to reorganise and rationalise their representative associations in 2015 to form the Australian Energy Council.

The newly formed council approached Microcosm to develop a brand identity for the launch of the organisation. The selected design references the concept of a light turning on in the dark, representing knowledge and insight - and a low energy lightbulb to reflect the changing Australian energy landscape. The three stylised bands of the logo can also be seen as a capital E letterform, representing the symbol for energy.

As part of the initial brand package we designed and produced, stationery collateral, presentation and report templates and a series of information fact sheets for community engagement.

Recent ongoing community engagement project have included communications for public information related to energy and costs savings during the Covid-19 pandemic, and have extended to social media campaigns and animated videos (right).
